Terms of Service
These terms and conditions govern the provision of pest control services by Tropical Palms Pest Management. Please read them carefully before booking a service.
Last updated: March 2026
Agreement Overview
Tropical Palms Pest Management ("TPPM", "we", "us", "our") is a licensed pest control business operating in Cairns and surrounding areas in Far North Queensland. We hold all required licences under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) for pest management services.
By booking a service, requesting a quote, or using our website at tppmcairns.com.au, you ("the customer", "you") agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
These terms apply to all pest control services we provide, including but not limited to general pest treatments, termite inspections, termite barrier installations, rodent control, mosquito management, and any other pest management services we offer.
Bookings & Quotes
- Quotes provided are estimates based on the information you supply and may be subject to change upon physical inspection of the property. Final pricing will be confirmed before any work begins.
- By confirming a booking, you authorise us to attend your property and carry out the agreed pest control services.
- You must provide accurate information about your property, including the type of property, size, known pest issues, and any relevant access details.
- We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the scheduled time. If we need to reschedule, we will notify you as soon as possible and arrange an alternative time.
- You may reschedule or cancel a booking by giving us at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee.
- We reserve the right to decline a booking or cease work if conditions are unsafe, if the property is significantly different from what was described, or if the customer behaves in an abusive or threatening manner.
Service Delivery
- All pest control treatments are performed by licensed and insured technicians in accordance with Queensland regulations and Australian Standards.
- We use products registered with the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and approved for use in residential and commercial settings.
- The specific products, methods, and treatment areas will be determined by our technician based on the type of pest, level of infestation, and property conditions.
- You are responsible for preparing the property for treatment as instructed by our team (e.g. clearing access to areas, removing pets, covering fish tanks). Failure to prepare may affect the effectiveness of the treatment or result in rescheduling.
- Upon completion, our technician will provide you with a summary of the work carried out, including the products used, areas treated, and any follow-up recommendations.
- Results may vary depending on the severity of the infestation, environmental conditions, property type, and follow-up care. Pest control treatments reduce and manage pest populations but cannot guarantee the complete elimination of all pests in all circumstances.
Pricing & Payment
- All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST unless otherwise stated.
- Payment is due upon completion of the service unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing beforehand.
- We accept payment by cash, bank transfer, credit card, and EFTPOS.
- For larger jobs (e.g. termite barrier installations), we may require a deposit before work commences. The deposit amount and terms will be outlined in your quote.
- Overdue accounts may be subject to interest charges and collection costs. If payment is not received within 14 days of the invoice date, we reserve the right to engage a debt collection agency, and you will be liable for all associated recovery costs.
- Prices listed on our website or marketing materials are indicative and may change without notice. The confirmed price in your quote or booking is the price that applies to your service.
Service Guarantee
We stand behind our work. Our service guarantee applies as follows:
- Internal general pest treatments are covered by a 6-month free service guarantee. If the treated pests return within this period, we will re-treat the affected areas at no additional cost.
- The guarantee applies to the specific pests treated and the areas treated during the original service. It does not cover new pest species or untreated areas of the property.
- To claim under the guarantee, contact us and describe the issue. We will arrange a follow-up visit at a mutually convenient time.
- The guarantee may be voided if the property undergoes significant renovations, structural changes, or if conditions that attract pests (e.g. poor sanitation, excessive moisture, open food storage) are not addressed as recommended by our technician.
- External treatments are not covered under the guarantee due to environmental factors beyond our control (rain, landscaping changes, neighbouring properties, etc.).
- Termite inspections, termite barrier installations, and specialty services have their own specific warranty terms which will be outlined in your service agreement.
Our guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any consumer guarantees or rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
Access & Property
- You must ensure that our technicians have safe, clear access to all areas of the property that require treatment, including roof voids, sub-floors, garages, and external perimeters.
- If you are a tenant, you confirm that you have obtained the property owner's or managing agent's permission for pest control services to be carried out.
- We take reasonable care when working on your property. However, we are not liable for pre-existing damage, concealed defects, or damage caused by pest activity that existed before our treatment.
- If our technician identifies a safety hazard (e.g. asbestos, structural instability, exposed wiring), we may refuse to work in the affected area until the hazard is resolved. This is for the safety of our team and your household.
- You are responsible for informing us of any known hazards, aggressive animals, restricted access areas, or alarm systems before the appointment.
Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the cost of re-performing the service or, at our discretion, a refund of the fee paid for the specific service in question.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including but not limited to loss of rental income, loss of business, cost of alternative accommodation, or damage caused by pest activity that was present before our treatment.
- We are not responsible for pest activity that results from factors beyond our control, including but not limited to: neighbouring properties, weather events, structural deficiencies, or the customer's failure to follow post-treatment advice.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
